Clinical Hypnosis

What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a state of inner concentration and focused attention. When we are able to focus our attention and narrow our scope of concentration, our mind becomes very powerful. In this state, we are able to use our full potential and gain more control over our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

One of the biggest myths about hypnosis is that hypnotherapists have special powers and the individual is giving up control to them. On the contrary, hypnosis is the ultimate form of self-control because it allows individuals to harness their potential and focus their mind on whatever it is they wish to accomplish. Further, self-hypnosis can be learned from a hypnosis professional to guide individuals to harness their own power whenever they wish.

Hypnotic State & Trance

If you can imagine some of your routines and how they seem to occur without your full attention to them, you might find that you have experienced a hypnotic state or what is called trance. You might find yourself at work with little awareness of the familiar landmarks you pass each day. You may get so involved in reading a novel that your surroundings seem to fade into the background. These states are often referred to as trance, or hypnotic states. Our attention is so focused that everything else falls away. It is perfectly normal and can also be a very pleasant experience to just let things go.
